Colorado Railroad
Museum Visit
|
|
The Colorado Railroad Museum
is recognized as one of the best privately supported rail museums in the
United States. This "can't miss" site for railfans features over 100
historic narrow and standard gauge locomotives and cars exhibited on 15
acres at the foot of North Table Mountain, near Golden, Colorado.
The museum was established
in 1959 to preserve for future generations a tangible record of
Colorado's flamboyant railroad era, particularly the state's pioneering
narrow gauge mountain railroads.
An awesome museum that we haven't visited for a while. Please join us! |

Japanese Tea
Ceremony
|
|
| I finally (after three years of trying!) managed to book a Japanese
Tea Ceremony at the traditional tea house in the Denver Botanic Gardens.
This ceremony is designed for a public school audience, but they have no
problem with a home school group coming in. This tea ceremony is
"the real deal" with the history and culture of Japan literally served
up to us in the beautiful little tea house way in the back of the
Botanic Gardens. The ceremony is only done during the month of May
and only on Mondays or Tuesdays...so hopefully the one time I nabbed
will work for you. I am allowed a maximum of 30 people and must
have one adult for every five children. There is a minimal cost of
$2/child and I think adults may have to pay a regular admission to the
Gardens.....but I'm checking on that as I'm not sure. I have eight (8)
spots filled and first come, first served. So e-mail or call to
confirm your spot! |

July and August. One of the classes will continue our work on acids
and bases. The following classes we will be investigating the properties
of the elements of Groups 13 and 14.
