Colorado History
Classes
|
|
During May, June and
July we will be continuing our series of classes on the
History of Colorado from its earliest beginnings to the
present day. With our study of the geography, pre-history
and earliest peoples in our state under our belts, we will
now be moving on to more recent native American Indian
communities, and the natural history and ecology of the
mountains and plains. For more information, contact Lucy
Bauer
(doublebeetlebass@aol.com)
or Lisa Pettitt.

Natural History

In
this class we will consider the different plant and animal
communities that exist in Colorado - in distinct life zones
ranging from semi-desert to alpine tundra. We will study the natural

altitude and scarcity of water.

Associated Field
Trip
|
|
|
This trip will bring to life the
knowledge we have already gained about our states’ ‘ancestors’.
A museum guide will be hosting two
separate workshops for us on ‘Ancient Voices’ – Colorado’s
Prehistoric Indians, and ‘Indians of Colorado’ – native cultures.
Each program will last about an hour, and then we will be free to
tour the museum on our own.
Cost is $2 per person. Please call
Lucy Bauer (303-816-9112) as soon as possible if you plan to come.
